Star in Focus: Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is a pop rock, American singer, songwriter, musician, and actress. Demi started as Angela on Barney & his Friends along with her best friend Selena Gomez. She became even better known for her starring roles in the Camp Rock movies which she played as Mitchie Torres, a fourteen-year-old girl with hopes of becoming a singer. Demi played as Sonny Munroe in the Disney sitcom Sonny with a Chance, and as the star of the 2009 movie Princess Protection Program.

Demi’s birth name is Demetria Devonne Lovato, born in Dallas, Texas on August 20, 1992 to Patrick Lovato and Dianna Hart de la Garza. Demi has an older sister, Dallas Lovato, and a younger half-sister, Madison de la Garza. She is of Mexican, Irish, and Italian descent. Demi is a skilled pianist and guitar player; she began playing piano at the age of seven.

Demi has a purity ring like Selena Gomez and The Jonas Brothers but she wears it as a necklace. Demi was home schooled. A year early, she graduated High School in May 2009. Good friends with her Camp Rock TV-costars Meaghan MartinAlyson Stoner, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle and Jasmine Richards. Selena Gomez is Demi’s long time best friend, and Miley Cyrus is her new best friend. Demi’s ex-boyfriend was Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers.

April 20, 2011, Demi announced that she has a Bipolar Disorder. Simply Demi is remarkably self-aware, but thankfully not self-involved, and constantly striving for improvement. She also remains a typical teen: A fast-talking, quick-texting, multi-tasking teen, obsessed with music, clothes, movies, and loved her fans purely.
