Beautiful Women of the Universe, World and Earth

Climate change is one of the problems everyone is facing today. We are already being affected by climate change in a way that is detrimental to human life and well-being. However, because of the advocacy that everyone must show love to nature beauty pageants that are held annually became a huge help to save our earth. Namely, Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Earth. These are not just a pageants for beauties but are pageants that helps in campaigning to protect the environment, empowering role models of beauty, health and leadership for young women of today and saving what God gave to us. Each country has their own contender to represent their country and they are gathered until one is crowned.

Starting with Miss Universe 2011 that crowned Ms. Leila Lopes representing the country of Angola held in Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil. Now Ms. Angola took her responsibility as she traveled to different countries for her advocacy. One of those country was Indonesia, Singapore and to her home Angola. Ms. Angola appeared also in Orphaned Starfish Foundation that making a difference in the lives of children around the world.

Next, Miss World 2011 that crowned Ms. Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colmenares of Venezuela held in London. This pageant themed Beauty with a Purpose helping children worldwide. Ms. Venezuela beat other contestants because of her advantage that impressed judges. Those advantage was her involvement in charity works. Other contestant showed also  their passion for help and awareness through charity projects by focuses raising money to help children struggling and battling for cancer.

To complete this event a new Miss Earth will be crowned by the end of the year. Miss Earth is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. Candidates are involved with humanitarian and environmental causes. A crowned Miss Earth will then dedicate herself to promote specific projects that often address issues concerning the environment and other global issues. The pageant was originally scheduled to be held at the Impact, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand, however the pageant organizers decided to move the pageant back to the Philippines due to the massive flooding in Thailand.

Miss Earth 2011, the 11th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, is scheduled to be held on December 3, 2011 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines. The theme of this year’s Miss Earth edition will be “The Earth is Crying. Let the Earth Smile Again!”
