The Perfectionist: Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay is one of the most popular and influential Chefs in the food and hospitality industry. Gordon is more known for his temper and incisive outbursts in the kitchen. Gordon is a Scottish Chef, television personality and restaurateur. Gordon was born on November 8, 1966 in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland.  But Gordon moved to England, from the age of 5 and he was raised there.

Gordon is the second of four children; he has an older sister, Diane Ramsay, a younger brother, Ronnie Ramsay, and a younger sister, Yvonne Ramsay. Gordon was named after his father’s name. His father, Gordon Ramsay died on 1997 was a swimming pool manager, a welder, and a shopkeeper; Gordon’s mother, Helen Cosgrove and his younger sister Yvonne have been nurses.

In 1996, Gordon Ramsay married Cayetana Elizabeth Hutcheson or known as Tana Ramsay, a Montessori-trained schoolteacher. The couple have four children: Megan Jane Ramsay born 1998, twins Jack Scott Ramsay and Holly Anna Ramsay born 2000, and Matilda Elizabeth Ramsay born 2002. Nowadays they live in Battersea.

Behinds Gordon’s life he was intended to a life-long career as a professional footballer. In fact, he was a splendid soccer player and joined the Glasgow Rangers (Pro) at the age of 15. He played with the Rangers from 1982 until 1985 when a knee injury ended his career; he never fully recovered from the double injury.

Gordon admires fellow chefs Jamie Oliver and Rick Stein. He is close friends with David Beckham & Victoria Beckham. Gordon is fluent in French and he is left-handed. Gordon’s trademark is having a pencil behind the left ear.

In 1998 at the age of 32, Gordon opened his first purely owned restaurant, which is the Gordon Ramsay’s. The London restaurant was immediately recognized as one of the best in the world and was awarded three stars by Michelin.

In the other hand; atrocious temper and dirty language has made him a favourite of TV producers both here in America and in the UK. Gordon travels around England visiting some of the worse run restaurants in the country and then spends the next two weeks trying to make them successful.

Asides of Gordon’s rapid temper, demeaning rants, and his obsession with perfection. He runs his own kitchens smoothly and genuinely. If treated as cruelly, his own staff would probably have abandoned him long ago. But he treated his staff with loyalty, fair and love.

  2. I'm very entertained by Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen, and Masterchef. It's not just Gordon's temper, really,.. although he reminds me of the Incredible Hulk at times.
