Men’s Watches: The Latest Rolex and Breitling Watches

We’re almost through the first month of a new year, and with Basel World coming up in March, there’s no better time than now to purchase a new luxury watch to complete your wardrobe – or at least be considering one.

We’re going to specifically focus on two of the best watches for men currently on the market. Rolex and Breitling.

The Latest Rolex Watches for Men

While these may be difficult times for many, Rolex enjoyed an increase in sales last year. It’s expected that that growth will continue in 2012. In fact, many Swiss made watches saw a boom in sales last year.

If you don’t want to be left out in this trend, then here’s the latest watches from the famed Rolex.

Explorer II

The first Explorer II watch was launched in 1971 as a nod to adventurers. Since then, the watch has had only three changes, which were all for the better. The 2011 is not only slimmer, it also features an Oyster case and bracelet, as well as, a self-winding 24-hour hand and is waterproof to 330 feet.

Yacht-Master II

The original Yacht-Master was unveiled in 2007, but, the 2011 model really pushed the companies creative and technological minds. This beauty was designed to be an asset for sailing and yachting enthusiasts, since this model featured a programmable regatta countdown with mechanical memory.

Daytona

The Cosmograph Daytona was introduced in 1963 to meet the demands of professional race car drivers. Since then, it has earned an iconic status among watches. These newer models are no exception, and are perfect to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

DateJust Special Edition

If you’re seeking a watch just for sheer elegance, look no further than the DateJust Special Edition. Made of Everose gold and set with diamonds, this watch is simply a showstopper.

The Latest Breitling Watches for Men

Established in 1884, Breitling seeks to not become outdone by any competitor. Since 2009, the beloved pilot-watch brand has spent the following years producing its Caliber 01 chronograph movement.

Navitimer 01

First launched in 1959, the Navitimer became one of the most recognizable watch dials ever, and is also the world’s oldest mechanical chronograph still in production. The Navitmer 01 is now equipped with a case featuring a slightly larger diameter, and is distinguished by its black dial with a red seconds hand and applied hour-markers or numerals.

Chronomat GMT

Since 1984 the Chronomat has virtually owned the technical and aviation watch sector. This flagship model was also the first watch to house Caliber 01. The GMT not only houses Caliber 04, it also adjusts instantly to the time and date of the place of arrival, while maintaining a 24-hour home-time display and without losing any precision in counting the minutes. This is an essential traveling companion.

Montbrillant 01 Limited

This collectors item evokes the spirit of the 40s and 50s, but has been updated to host the Caliber 01.

Transocean Chronograph

This Transocean model blends the classic 1950s and 60s chronographs with a contemporary style, but it’s the 18K gold version of the B initial, which served as the brands symbol for years, which really makes it stand out against other Transocean models.
