Not all suits are made equal, and with that said, it is important to recognize quality when you see it, and wear it. You need at least one fantastic suit in your wardrobe. Always make sure your suits and shirts fit well around the collar. And match the suit to your lifestyle.

Hugo Boss

GUCCI

But by the 1980s, Gucci had lost its appeal, becoming a tacky airport brand. However a turnaround of the company was devised in the late 1980s and has since made Gucci one of the world’s most influential fashion houses – it was recently named one of the best classic garment dealers in the world and sported. Guinness World Records cites Gucci’s “Genius Jeans” as the most expensive jeans in the world.

Henry Huntsman

Henry Huntsman established this firm at 11 Savile Row in 1849, and received a Royal Warrant from the Prince of Wales in 1865. Huntsman’s signature features include a riding coat-based silhouette, firm shoulders, and a sculpted waist. Huntsman is also known for having the most expensive starting price for a two-piece suit on the Row, being mentioned in a Tom Wolfe novel, and the two stags’ heads that have hung in the shop since being left behind by a customer in the ’20s. Founded by Henry Huntsman in the West End of London in 1894, H. Huntsman’s specialty is trim, contoured, slightly long and impossibly comfortable suits that fit the body like a second skin. Padded collars lie flat above sharp shoulder lines, while shallow armholes offer exceptional freedom of movement. Interior and exterior pockets are reinforced so they won’t pull the suit out of shape. Traditionally slim-fitting trousers have recently gotten looser to adhere to customers’ preference for comfort. Fabrics are the height of quality.

Dolce & Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana is known for a more luxurious and formal clothing line while D&G is better recognized as a casual and trendy line of clothing and accessories. “The message we want to convey,” says Gabbana, “is universal: To make men feel comfortable, and we do that with the cut of a suit, our attention to detail, and the choice of fabrics. The design house describes itself as new luxury, authentic and unconventional – a style that expresses new forms of elegance, presenting itself as a modern classicism and is known for its geometric and dark approach to fashion.


Ralph Lauren

Every man should own at least one suit. While that may be an old adage, it could not be more truthful. Ranked as one of the world’s leading menswear brands, Armani is an Italian luxury fashion which has a faithful male following who appreciate the clean, tailored lines of each collection. Giorgio Armani formed his company in 1975, and by 2001 was acclaimed as the most successful designer to come out of Italy. Innovative and future forward, Armani was the first designer to ban models with a body mass index under 18. Armani designed made-to-measure suits for Christian Bale’s character Bruce Wayne in The Dark Knight. Soon, ads featuring “Giorgio Armani for Bruce Wayne” were released with pictures of Christian Bale wearing Armani suits.

Calvin Klein

Founded by 1856 by Thomas Burberry, a 21-year-old former draper’s apprentice, Burberry Prorsum is today a deluxe British owned fashion corporation, popular for its clothing, fragrances and fashion accessories. The brand’s distinctive tartan pattern, a type of plaid pattern, has become one of its most widely copied trademarks of all time including the Burberry Equestrian Knight Logo with the Latin word “Prorsum”, developed in 1901. The company has branded stores and franchises around the world, and also sells through concessions in third-party stores. HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Prince of Wales have granted the company Royal Warrants. In 1911 the brand became the outfitters for Roald Amundsen, the first man to reach the South Pole, and Ernest Shackleton, who led a 1914 expedition to cross Antarctica. A Burberry gabardine jacket was worn by George Mallory on his ill-fated attempt on Mount Everest in 1924. In 1914 Burberry was commissioned by the War Office to adapt its officer’s coat to suit the conditions of contemporary warfare, resulting in the “trench coat”. After the war, the trench coat became popular with civilians.

Prada’s originality made it one of the most influential fashion houses, and the brand became a premium status symbol in the 1990s. Prada is an Italian fashion label specializing in luxury goods for men and women founded by Mario Prada.
