Loads of Third-Party Content Landing on Wii U

After the reports that a lot of Wii U games were held back by Nintendo during the E3 event last month, it seems that a lot of proofs with regard to the issue were emerging. In relation to this, Official Nintendo Magazine’s Editor-in-chief Chandra Nair shared in their latest podcast that he was excited to find out the list of unannounced games for the Wii U.

Its actually a moment I can talk about, because my favorite bit of E3 was finding out about all the cool third-party stuff that’s coming for the Wii U, which they decided not to talk about, which was awesome. So I just wanted to say yeah, there’s load of third-party stuff coming which I reckon we might see at Gamescon, or we might see at TGS, but its coming. That was my favorite bit because everyone was saying ‘No one’s bringing out anything for Wii U’, and I saw some cool things.

This news only confirms claims from various sources, stating that there are a handful of Wii U games held back from E3. However, this is not just Nintendo’s intention. In fact, EA’s Frank Gibeau shared that they wanted to hold their fire for a bit because of the games that they are working on. In addition, GameTrailers’ Editor-in-chief Shane Satterfield posted a tweet last month:

Just realized that a Wii U game I knew about well before E3 was never announced at the show. I’m guessing there are others to come as well.

Unified 3DS and Wii U Account

Earlier this week, there were also reports that Nintendo will release a unified account for the 3DS and Wii U. This means that gamers will be able to create a single online account and use it for both systems.

However, there were no additional details on how this system will work, or whether it will work outside of the United States and Canada. In case the system will have a problem, users are advised to visit an authorized Nintendo service center.

Nintendo representative David Marshall also added that the unified account system will be implemented later this year, in line with the release of their latest game console. Eventually, the unified account system will be made compatible for the 3DS system.

On the other hand, Gamescon will take place on August 15-19, while TGS is scheduled on September 20-21. Hopefully, Nintendo will release their unannounced titles for Wii U during this event.
