Holiday season is coming, and some of you may be thinking of buying computers games for your friend or for yourself. In case you’re still thinking of what to purchase for Christmas, check out the list of this year’s 10 best games.

10. Mass Effect 3

Platform: PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U

Designed as an action RPG, Mass Effect 3 started its story on Earth where Commander Shepard was detained. Suddenly, the Reapers attacked the planet that prompted Admiral Anderson to help Shepard escape.

9. Trials Evolution

Developer: RedLynx
Publisher: Microsoft Studios and Ubisoft
Platform: Xbox 360 (XBLA) and PC

This is a 2.5-D platform racing game, wherein players control a motorcycle rider while traversing over obstacles.

8. Xenoblade Chronicles

Developer: Monolith Soft
Publisher: Nintendo
Platform: Wii

Xenoblade Chronicles is an RPG game that features Shulk, Reyn, and Dunban. The game, which was set a year after the battle of Sword Valley, tells about Shulk’s capabilities to use a weapon called “Monado.”

7. Mortal Kombat

Developer: NetherRealm Studios
Publisher: Midway Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
Platform: PlayStation Vita

Commonly abbreviated as “MK,” this fighting game takes place in a fictional universe made up of six surviving realms. Released last year, the Mortal Kombat revealed that the battle between the warriors of the six realms whittled down to two survivors: Shao Khan and Raiden.

6. Journey

In this game, the player controls a robed figure in a vast dessert, travelling towards a mountain in the distance. Journey was released last March for the PlayStation Network. 

5. Diablo III

This action RPG takes place in Sanctuary, 20 years after the events in Diablo II. Diablo III features the player character Nephalem, who arrives in New Tristam to investigate the fallen star that created a huge crater in the Tristam Cathedral.

4. Fez

Developer: Polytron
Publisher: Microsoft Studios, Trapdoor and Polytron
Platform: Xbox Live Arcade

As a puzzle/platform game, Fez lets players take the role of Gomez. The character is a 2D creature that needs to save Hexahedron, an artifact that helped him conceive 3D, before his world is torn apart. 

3. Lumines Electronic Symphony

Publisher: Ubisoft
Platform: PlayStation Vita

According to game producer James Mielke, Lumines Electronic Symphony’s goal is to “tell a story through sound.” Thus, the game’s song selection was designed to replicate a groovy lounge, instead of developing a non-stop 140 BPM megamix.

2. UFC Undisputed 3

Mixed Martial Arts games UFC Undisputed 3 features the fighters from UFC and Pride and is composed of various weight divisions. This is the third and last game that was released under the UFC-THQ agreement.

Platform: PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360

Max Payne 3 is a third-person shooter shooter game that was set nine years after Mona Sax’s death. Now a retired NYPD, Max Payne was recruited by an old acquaintance, Raul Passos, as a private security contractor for a job in South America.
