Jimmy Kimmel “Kicked Parents Out of The Emmys”

Comedian and talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel served as the host of the 64th Prime Time Emmy Awards 2012, but lost to “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” for the Variety Series category award. Kimmel then took out his “frustration” on his own parents who were sitting in the audience, whom he introduced before:

“Before we go any further, I’d like you to meet my father and mother who are here in the audience.”

Kimmel went on, saying how supportive his parents are in his career.

“I know this isn’t the case for everyone but my parents were very supportive and always told me: ‘You can do anything you set your mind to.’ This year I set my mind to winning an Emmy and guess what mom and dad? I didn’t win an Emmy.”

This is where the prank began. Actor Tracy Morgan who sat beside Kimmel’s parents agreed with the host and joined him in the insults, saying “I don’t trust these two, Jim.” Kimmel replied, “I don’t either, they are sick! Security can you please have my parents removed from the theatre, go ahead and tase them if you need to. Out of the theatre and into the parking lot, they need to learn somehow.”

Kimmel’s parents were then ‘escorted out of the theater’ followed by an awkward laugh by the audience.
