BMW will release two special versions of the X1, which will be designed to show the SUV’s ability to tackle the winter. The SUVs will be showcased during the Los Angeles auto show.

BMW X1: Concept K2 Power Ride

Coming this November at the Los Angeles Auto Show is the Concept K2 Power Ride edition.

It is inspired by three-year cooperation with sports equipment maker K2. The SUV gets the BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, a Valencia orange coat, and gray 19-inch wheels. It also sports a roof rack for ski and snowboard transportation.

The car’s exterior features graphics that are akin to K2’s sports equipment. It has a stylized fox version, with a nose pointing towards the front wheels. The side windows are tinted with matte black surrounds.

On the other hand, the interior has a premium surround sound system, with a 500-watt stereo and subwoofer. It also has an external microphone, which could come in handy during a spontaneous winter party. The seats are covered with Napa leather, and it is completed with a wood trim.

BMW X1: Power Ride Edition

One version is named as Power Ride Edition, which will go on sale on November. It has exclusive features and the winter-required, all-wheel-drive setup.

The SUV also comes with a roof rack and extra storage inside the vehicle. It also boasts a range of winter accessories such as ski and snowboarding bag, roof box, all-weather floor mats, and luggage compartment mat.

Additionally, the BMW X1 Power Ride Edition gets the xLine option package with silver exterior elements, 18-inch wheels, sport leather steering wheel, and a few extra accents. As a bonus, anyone who will buy the BMW X1 Power Ride Edition can have a pair of custom-designed K2 LTD Power Ride skis. The skis will only be available with the car.

It will be offered in xDrive28i and xDrive35, but it will be offered through the winter months. Therefore, it’s advisable to get your car before the end of February. Potential owners can also choose their engines between the 3.0-liter I6 that produces 300 hp or 240 hp and the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder.

Pricing is not yet announced, although there are estimates that it can be a little over the cost of X1 xDrive28i, which is tagged at $32,350.

This year’s LA Auto Show will kick off on November 30 to December 9 and will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
