This Sunday Target will kick off its “Buy 2 Get 1 Free” sales, although details are yet to be revealed. However, there were claims that its offer will be valid on almost any systems for games that cost $60 or less. The sale should also work on new releases such as Assassin’s Creed III and Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

Although guidelines of the sale are yet to be announced, the online retailer already posted a bevy of games for various consoles that will be available for B2G1. In addition, discounted prices for each title are already published. This assures players that they can purchase a game for as low as $10.

Some of the games listed under the B2G1 category are Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, 3DS Game WWE Allstars, Fable III, Madden NFL Football, and many more.

This is not the first time that the retailer held a B2G1 sale. Last October 2011, Sunday Target launched the same event following Toys ‘R’ Us own campaign. All games and accessories were included on the deal, but for pre-order.

Best Buy and Toys ‘R’ Us

Prior to this, Best Buy also held its  “Buy 2 Get 1 Free” sale last October 21 to 27. All games that cost $59.99 or less will be eligible for a B2G1 deal, and it will be valid on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo 3DS and DS, and PlayStation Vita.

Based on an image posted on the Blu-ray Forum, products must be bought on the same receipt in order to avail the third game for free. It should also be of equal or lesser value than the items that were purchased. However, Best Buy’s deal didn’t work on all Skylanders products, PC software, digital downloads, and pre-owned games.

Last October 2011, Toys ‘R’ Us also held the same event, allowing gamers to purchase games and accessories for a lower price. However, pre-orders were not eligible for the deal. The good thing about this is that the B2G1 is not only available through brick-and-mortar retail stores. Toys ‘R’ Us even held the event in its store.

The “Buy 2 Get 1 Free” sale is a great opportunity for both gamers and the retailers. That’s because players will be able to purchase their favorites games at a lower prices, while retailers can bring in more customers and sales with this deal.
