AT&T subscribers have no need to wait that long, as Windows Phones from HTC and Nokia will be available to the carrier this month. The smartphones to hit the carrier’s shelves are Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 820, and HTC Windows Phone 8X.

The Nokia handsets are now available for pre-order, and they will hit the stores on November 9. AT&T added that the HTC Windows Phone 8X will be available before Thanksgiving.

Nokia Lumia 920

The Nokia Lumia 920 is the phone manufacturer’s flagship Windows Phone 8 device. It includes a free wireless charging plate, 4.5-inch display with 1280 x 768-pixel resolution, 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage capacity.

Aside from that, the handset boasts 8.7-megapixel camera with image stabilization and low-light settings. This feature is said to take in “five times more light” than typical smartphones.

Other than the Lumia 920, its 820 variant will also be available in AT&T. It will cost $50 with a two-year contract, and it will feature a 4.3-inch display with 800 x 400-pixel resolution, 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 8 GB of storage, and microSD card slot.

It was also reported that the handset will support wireless charging using optional exchangeable shells.

HTC Windows Phone 8X

In addition, the HTC Windows Phone 8X sports 4.3-inch 720p display, 1.5 GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.

It will come in 8 GB and 16 GB capacities, which is tagged at $100 and $200 respectively.

Windows Phone on Other Carriers

As for other US carriers, it was announced that T-Mobile will have the HTC Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 810 on November 14. The smartphones will be priced at $150 and $50 respectively.

Verizon will also have the HTC handset, in addition to Nokia Lumia 822 and Samsung Ativ Odyssey sometime this month. However, its prices and exact release date is yet to be announced.

The Windows Phone 8 is Microsoft’s ticket in joining the battle against other smartphones. So far, it has received nods for its slick interface, huge amount of feature support, and Skype integration. However, the mobile operating system doesn’t run on older models, it only has a small app store, and it is also not as immersive as other platforms.
