For the fans of first-person shooter games, they no longer need to be reminded that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is already available. In addition, it was reported that the game has shattered Activision’s pre-order sales record last year.

Although numbers are yet to be revealed, it was reported that the new Call of Duty title was able to outperform the record sales Modern Warfare 3 set last year. Considered as the “most ambitious Call of Duty ever”, Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 set a “historic launch” that has “humbled” game publisher giant. As stated by CEO Eric Hirshberg:

From the very beginning, our goal with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was to deliver a new high watermark for franchise. And thanks to the hard work and creative brilliance of our team at Treyarch, I think that’s exactly what we’ve done.

In addition to an amazing and innovative game, we’re also proud and humbled to see the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 creating yet another legitimate, pop cultural phenomenon. To our millions of fans worldwide, who have driven everything from pre-orders to YouTube views, to midnight lines outside of stores worldwide to new levels, we just want to say, thank you.

You are the best fan base in the world, and the unprecedented thrill ride that is Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is all for you.

Black Ops 2 on Wii U

Other than that, it was already confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be available on Wii U when the system becomes available on November 18. Because of this, gamers are given a hint that the Nintendo console will offer something that PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 don’t—co-op play with each players having their own screen.

Hirshberg added that the game will look great on Wii U, as it runs at 60 fps. It will support Pro Controller, WiiMote, Nunchuck, and the Wii U gamepad. The console will let players experience the game in high definition, offering the most advanced textures, lighting, and shadowing system. They can also take advantage of Wii U’s second-screen experience on the GamePad, which will allow them to experience the full Call of Duty action from the second-screen functionality.

Players can also choose to use the console’s split-screen functionality so that they could use both the game pad and the Pro Controller. Wii U also supports up to four controllers, including the WiiMote and the Nunchuck.

Furthermore, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on Wii U includes more multiplayer modes such as the Challenges, Core & Party Game Modes, Custom Games, Combat Training, Theater Enhancements, Emblem Editor, and Prestiging.
