After being able to get a hands-on with the upcoming downloadable content for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, gaming website EGM Now has posted a number of screenshots. As is turns out, the images are showing additional characters and stages on Sony’s crossover game.

So far, the additional characters posted by the website are Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Starhawk. It was also reported that the game will get additional stage, and as with the rest of PlayStation All-Stars platforms, it is a combination of elements from various PlayStation franchises. This time, it is a blending together of Heavenly Sword and WipEout.

Hundreds of Content for PlayStation All-Stars

Last month, AMOG reported that a Sony representative confirmed PlayStation All-Stars’ first downloadable content.

Yes, we will be adding additional gameplay content to PlayStation All-Stars through post-launch DLC, including new characters and environments.

On the other hand, the company was tight-lipped with regards to other details about the upcoming DLC. Thus, Seth Killian of Sony Santa Monica advises gamers to stay tuned. He even added that hypothetical DLC characters will have the same features as the launch-day casts. This means that their story can be included in a single-player mode.

We’ve been tight-lipped about our final boss, but if you hang in until the end you’ll get a glimpse of the villainous mastermind that’s returned from the depths of PlayStation history to pull the strings in All-Stars.

What’s interesting about this recent news is that PlayStation All-Stars will apparently give a deeper gaming experience for all the fans. When pressed about the game’s single-player content, Killian said the game will have a lot of features.

Beyond arcade mode with intros, ending and rival cut-scenes for every character and all the multiplayer stuff, All-Stars has tons of interesting challenges and trials (both overall trials and character-specific stuff). Certainly, it’s hundreds of hours of content here, and a very extensive set of unlocks, from titles, to taunts, to character-specific intro and outro moves, musical themes, badges, etc.

Pricing and Availability

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was released last November 20 in North America for the PS3 and PS Vita. It was launched with 20 first-party and third-party characters, while Kat and Emmett will be added to the roster as DLC early next year.

Although pricing for the upcoming DLC is not yet announced, it was reported that the additional characters will be available for free during its first two weeks after its release.
