Konami has finally launched its Metal Gear Solid 4: 25th Anniversary Edition. Last week, gamers in the European region—newcomers and early adopters alike—were given a chance to reminisce the title that they were able to champion four years ago.

Offering one of the most critically acclaimed titles on PlayStation 3 in a brand new package, Konami brings in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. This includes a poster that it not available in any other editions of the game.

Inside Metal Gear Solid 4: 25th Anniversary Edition

Aside from Guns of the Patriot and a game poster, the 25th Anniversary Edition also include rumble support for the DualShock 3 controller, as well as full 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound support.

It also boasts more interactivity during the cut scenes, enabling the users to change angles, summon flashbacks, full Trophy support. Prior to this, Konami has released a downloadable update that delivers trophies to those who already have the game. However, the 25th Anniversary Edition removes that need for that update.

Setting New Boundaries for Cinematic Gameplay Experience

Aside from releasing a videogame bundle, Metal Gear Solid 4: 25th Anniversary Edition sets new boundaries for cinematic gameplay experience. As posted on the gaming website Electronic Theatre:

Set in a battle-scarred future where was has become business carried out by mercenaries and machines, this visually stunning title sets new boundaries for gameplay and cinematic experiences in videogaming. The refined control system allows for some of the coolest gameplay ever seen as players guide Snake through to the end of his worn torn journey and tie up loose plot ends.

Indeed, Metal Gear Solid 4 is recognized as being one of the very best games of the generation. That’s why those who have missed out the game four years ago now have the opportunity to strike back. Moreover, this is good news to those who does not have PS3 back in 2008, as well as to those who passed on the game and wondering whether they did the right thing.

The Metal Gear Solid 4: 25th Anniversary Edition is now available on PAL territories at a retail price of £19.99 GBP. Whether it will be available in North America remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure: Konami’s latest bundle will be a PS 3 exclusive.
