The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure game, which focuses on Joel and Ellie. The characters trek across a post-apocalyptic America while hiding from scavengers, military forces, and the clutches of the Infected.

It is set 20 years after a cordyceps-type fungus has killed millions of people. Survivors are hemmed inside a quarantine zone that is maintained under Martial Law. However, Joel promises an old friend that he will get Ellie away from the harsh regime. The US military, on the other hand, are determined to bring the girl back under their power. Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us will be available worldwide as a PlayStation 3 exclusive.

On the other hand, The Last of Us team will be working hard towards achieving the next project milestone and making the game awesome. They will also be doing research for an upcoming work and will assist the team when needed.

Regarding Naughty Dog’s “upcoming work”, gaming fans and pundits have speculated that the studio may be working on a sequel for The Last of Us, a new Jak & Daxter, Uncharted 4 or even a brand new IP. Regardless, the game developer appears to be making an awesome game that their fans will love. Perhaps this is their way of showing how much they appreciate the people who support their games. As what Community Strategist Eric Monacelli said in the blog post:

It’s been a breathtaking year and we can’t express how much your response and reactions to our games means to us. Your support, your feedback, and your enthusiasm keep us going and make our work enjoyable. You give our games their player—it would be just a collection of data without you. Thank you.
