The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker—Gameplay and More Info

Initially released in North America on March 24, 2003, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is an action-adventure game and the tenth installment of the Zelda series. The game is set on a group of islands in a vast sea, and it allows players to control the game’s main protagonist—Link.

The game’s story revolves around Link, as he struggles against his nemesis, Ganondorf, for control of a sacred relic called the Triforce. He spends most of the time in the game sailing, travelling between islands, traversing dungeons and temples to gain the necessary power to defeat his nemesis.  The game also has something to do with Link’s search for his little sister Aryll.

The Wind Waker follows the story of Ocarina of Time and its sequel Majora’s Mask. It has a heavy emphasis on using and controlling the wind with a baton called Wind Waker. This baton aids Link’s sailing and floating in air.

New Zelda Adventure is in the Works

Other than that, Iwata confirmed during the Nintendo Direct conference that they are working on a new Zelda title. As reported by the gaming website, Wii U Daily:

The game is being prepared for users as an offering to hold fast while a brand new Zelda Wii U title is being worked on. It is confirmed that a new Zelda title is on the way, but that development is taking a long time because Nintendo wants to “rethink the conventions of Zelda”.

No exact release date, name or other details regarding the upcoming title were giving. Nevertheless, it is good to know that Nintendo GameCube is working on a new Zelda adventure.
