According to Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli, Crysis 3 on Xbox 360 and PS3 will look better than its predecessor. However, it could only gain 5 to 10 percent improvement in gaming consoles—graphically speaking.

Crysis 3: A 5-10% Gain in Consoles

Just like the first Crysis, Crytek is going to melt down PCs with their upcoming Crysis 3. That is according to some of the impressive gameplay footage, which will certainly be the case—at least for the PC version. As for gaming consoles, not much could be pushed on the graphic’s side. As Yerli stated in an interview with Eurogamer:

This time around the consoles couldn’t gain much more. It was like a five percent to ten percent. That’s it.

Regardless, this move is something that gaming pundits could understand. That’s because a lot of game developers have probably maxed out the power of current-gen consoles, which are nearing the end of their life-cycle. However, it doesn’t mean that Crysis 3 won’t look better than Crysis 2.

We gained on consoles visually and perception wise of quality through different techniques, not just brute force technology. So I think it’s above Crysis 2 on consoles.

The CEO also claimed that even if their upcoming game is a 5 to 10-percent improvement, “most gamers are not even anywhere near Crysis 2 technically”. Yerli added that “Crysis 3 is absolutely maxing out the consoles” and there’s “absolutely not even 1 percent left.”
