Although it is slated for a 2014 release, CD Projekt RED is certain that they will be able to get the best out of next-generation consoles as soon as their Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt becomes available. It is already confirmed for PlayStation 4 and PC, but the company said that they will be releasing it for Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox.

With CD Projekt RED already known for its capabilities to squeeze in best visuals, it would be interesting to know what Witcher 3 has in store. As stated by Quest Designer Pawel Sasko:

We will take full advantage of our new REDengine 3. With the new renderer we haven’t unveiled yet, we want to achieve CG movie quality for our game’s graphics.

Gameplay Improvements and Changes for Witcher Titles

Aside from graphics, the company said that Witcher 3 will have gameplay improvements because of the next-generation hardware. Sasko said:

Players will be able to traverse the world of the Witcher 3 with no load times thanks to our software and the availability of more powerful hardware by the time of release.

He also added that the Witcher 2 won’t be ported to next-gen consoles. Instead, they will adapt it, making the game’s platform specific features readily available for use.
