It appears that the Chromebook phenomenon is yet to come to an end, as PC makers are still making the jump to Google’s Chrome OS. Samsung, Lenovo, and HP are already part of it, while ACER recently expanded its Chromebook lineup.

ACER C710-2055: Features and Specifications

Following the announcement of the $199-worth ACER C7 last November, the company took the wraps off another device last Tuesday. It is the same C7 line that is designed for education users, and features a beefier model that costs $280.

Dubbed as the ACER C710-2055, it boasts Intel Celeron 847 processor, 4 GB RAM, and six-cell battery that can deliver up to 6 hours of battery life. It also weighs 3 pounds and is one-inch thick.

ACER America’s Vice President of US Commercial Sales Gregg Prendergast pointed out why the new ACER C7 is worth the price for education users:

Chromebooks are an ideal option for schools and districts that want to quickly implement a technology program that will significantly enhance student learning. The ACER C7 Chromebook is even more affordable when schools consider the reduced total cost of ownership thanks to its manageability and security features.

Other than that, the new ACER C7 features HD 1.3 MP webcam, 3 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI port, and an 11-inch HD widescreen LED backlit LCD. The latest Chromebook from ACER is now available in US retailers and authorized ACER dealers.
