Audi announced last Tuesday that US consumers can now have an A4 sedan with TDI engine. The new A4 version is set to land on local dealers next year. As stated by Audi of America President Scott Keogh, US dealerships will be able to have the next-generation A4 sedan with a 2-liter TDI engine.

The automaker skipped the current sedan last November after announcing their plans to offer four more TDI models in the US. In relation to this, they also decided to wait until the A4’s redesign, even after hinting that they will be bringing the TDI version of the sedan.

The Diesel Engine Bandwagon

Aside from Audi A4, that company announced during the Los Angeles Auto Show that they will also offer the diesel engine in the Q5 crossover. It will also be a feature in A6, A7 and A8 sedans. The A8 will be available in the spring, while the other three models will be up for sale in the fall.

Although diesel may cost more than regular gasoline in US, brands such as Chevrolet, Jeep, and Mazda recently took the wraps off of their diesel models. That is in order to take advantage of its better fuel efficiency.
