This month’s Geneva Motor Show has paved the way for the major supercars that will hit our dealers this year. However, it also graced the big reveal for the efficiency-focused green cars.

Audi A3 e-tron

A plug-in hybrid, the Audi A3 e-tron sports 188 mpg and very low CO2 emissions. The automaker claims that it can run for 31 miles in all-electric mode, with speed as fast as 80 mph. Under its hood is a 1.4-liter TFSI engine paired with a 75 kW electric motor. It is not yet in production, but Audi is heading there.

Ferrari LaFerrari

Carrying a price tag of approximately $1.58 million, the Ferrari LaFerrari is the priciest model the car manufacturer ever built. It is powered by 6.3-liter V12 that is coupled with a 163-hp electric motor. The car also offers 963 hp, and takes a user from 0-62 mph in less than 3 seconds.

Land Rover Defender

During the Geneva Motor Show, Land Rover introduced seven electric vehicles dubbed as Defender. It uses an electric motor that produces 94 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque. It is powered by a 300-volt lithium-ion battery with a 27 KwH capacity. The Land Rover Defender is expected to boast a range of 50 miles.

With powertrain as its most audacious element, Subaru Viziv is a plug-in hybrid crossover. It is powered by a combination of boxer diesel engine and three electric motors.

Toyota i-ROAD

The Toyota i-ROAD is a three-wheeled all-electric motorcycle that can accommodate two passengers at most. It measures 33 inches wide, which would enable it to get through the city traffic.

Volkswagen e-CO-motion

An all-electric cargo van, the Volkswagen e-CO-motion gets its power from a lithium-ion battery. The said battery is available in 20, 30 and 40 KwH capacities, which is good for 100, 150 and 200 km range respectively.

Volkswagen Golf Bluemotion

The Volkswagen Golf Bluemotion is a five-seater fuel-efficient green car that features 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel. It has increased efficiency compared to its predecessor, thanks to the reduced weight, improved aerodynamics, and engine modifications.
