It appears that Sony has spent a lot of money for God of War: Ascension, as the game’s development budget is said to be at $50 million.

The figure was revealed during an interview with German website 20 Minuten. Although the word “entwicklung,” which means “development” in English, was mentioned repeatedly, it is unknown whether the $50 million also includes marketing costs.

However, this shouldn’t come as a surprise since God of War 3 costs the same, and it was able to sell about 5 million copies. It’s possible that sales for God of War: Ascension won’t match that figure, but Sony should be able to at least cover the development costs.
