It was recently announced that Intel’s Haswell Core processors will be revealed in just a few weeks. As stated by the chip maker last Friday:

In approximately 3,337,200,000,000,000 nanoseconds, Intel will reveal all there is to know about the highly anticipated 4th generation Intel Core processor family.

Intel Haswell: A One-Chip-Fits-All Design

Intel has big plans for Haswell, as they’ve designed it to be capable of running on tablets, Ultrabooks and powerful desktops. It is also believed that the chip’s lower power consumption will be its big selling point, enabling it to almost double the battery life of ultra-thin laptops. The much-awaited processor will also feature improved graphics performance, fixed function video for faster video encoding and decoding, and the new Active Idle state for faster wake from sleep mode.

It is expected that Intel will roll out their quad-core chips for notebooks and desktops first, followed by the dual-core chips.

As for its price, there were speculations that it will be priced between $175 and $327 for the 3 GHz Core i5-4430 and 3.5 GHz Core i7-4770K respectively. However, there were contradicting rumors that the Haswell will target low and mid-range price points as it includes more cheaply priced SKUs than usual.

Nevertheless, everything will be revealed on June 3.
