It appears that Sony knows how to woo game devs and creators, as it was recently reported that they’ve sent an invite to Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson.

Last Monday, Persson posted an image of a golden PSOne on his official Twitter account. As it turns out, the game console is an invite to Sony’s PlayStation 4 event at E3. Aside from the golden PSOne, the console includes a copy of Dungeon Master 2.

Aside from being the creator of Minecraft, Persson is also known as an outspoken critic of Sony’s rival in the gaming industry—Microsoft. He sees the Redmonton-based company locking down its once “open” operating system with Windows 8 and the Windows Store. He also posted a tweet last week, saying that he “wanted a game console, not a voice and gesture-based TV remote box.”

What remains to be unknown is whether other devs received a similar invite from Sony. But, given the company’s increased focus on wooing independent developers, it wouldn’t be a surprise.
