In a note to investors that was issued last weekend, KGI analyst Ming-chi Kuo predicted that Apple will take the wraps off a slimmer MacBook Prowith Retina Display and MacBook Air with dual mic.

Minor Changes for Retina MacBook Pro and MacBook Air

According to Kuo, the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display will boast a slimmer chassis, as Apple aims for a more portable form factor. The said device is also expected to feature an improved FaceTime HD camera, which will boost its current resolution of 720p to “Full HD” (1080p).

On the other hand, the MacBook Air will keep its existing design, but it is likely to sport a dual microphone setup. The analyst noted that the inclusion of a second mic is a result of positive feedback about the device’s voice quality during VoIP and FaceTime calls.

In addition, it is expected that Intel’s Haswell CPU will power both the upcoming Retina MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. However, Kuo believes that the Cupertino-based company will no longer update their entry-level non-Retina MacBook Pro, as older models are moving closer to being phased out.

The Worldwide Developers Conference 2013 will take place from June 10-14 in San Francisco. It was also recently revealed that Apple will preview the upcoming iteration of iOS and OS X at the WWDC 2013 conference.
