Last Friday, Apple sent a notice to developers, saying that they would be closing the OS X Software Update 10.8.4 seed project. As stated on the company’s AppleSeed Software Customer Seeding notice:

The notice suggests that the maintenance update’s final version is coming close to a release. There were also speculations that the software could see public release at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2013. In fact, the Cupertino-based company announced that they would be showing off the next iterations of OS X and iOS at the WWDC 2013.

As for the software’s feature, an OS X 10.8.4 beta that was released last April revealed a code that indicates support for 802.11ac wireless protocol. This suggests that future Macs could soon take advantage of the high-speed Wi-Fi technology.

Apple also noted that they would be shutting down the discussion board and project area dedicated to the OS X 10.8.4 Seed Project after their slated infrastructure maintenance. There were no words as to when the software will become available to the public.
