In case you somehow missed it, a movie called Man of Steel opened this past weekend.
Since this is a Superman movie, there was a lot of buzz surrounding Man of Steel. But, after opening weekend numbers, fans, DC and Warner Bros. now have reason to celebrate.
Man of Steel hauled in an impressive $113 million. And, with worldwide totals, the has already made $196 million. Despite the mixed reviews, Man of Steel is a smash hit. Besides having the second-best opening of 2013 (behind Iron Man 3), it also captured the highest opening for a June release. Not too shabby.
With this kind of success, it’s not shocking that the WB has sped up the process on getting the Man of Steel sequel to theaters as soon as possible.
Besides the latest Superman movie breaking records, the legendary comic book character is also celebrating his 75th Anniversary.
