In a report posted by Inside Gaming, it is said that Microsoft will be releasing a Kinect-less Xbox One bundle in 2014. However, it contradicts the company’s previous statement that the Kinect is an “essential and integrated part” of the next-generation gaming system. They even stated that the console won’t function without the Kinect.

The gaming website even added that there’ll be two Kinect-less Xbox One bundle: The regular one and the “budget” bundle, which features a smaller hard drive. The latter is also deemed to carry a price ranging from $350 to $375.

Microsoft, on the other hand, denies these reports. According to a company representative:

We have no plans to introduce an Xbox One without Kinect. We believe in Kinect and the value it brings to both games and entertainment, and believe $499 is a great value for what consumers receive with their Xbox One.
