Aside from the next-generation iPhone model iPhone 5S, Apple is also expected to launch their low-cost mobile phone unit in their upcoming media event this September.
Apple-centric Japanese Blog, Mac Otakara, cited an industry source, who noted that the less expensive model will be called “iPhone 5C”. The moniker first appeared in late July, when a photo of a basket full of plastic consumer packaging with an iPhone 5C logo leaked.
In relation to this, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported earlier this year that the so-called iPhone 5C would have a composite plastic and fiberglass shell.
Apple is set to announce their low-cost iPhone model, together with the iPhone 5S and iOS 7, on September 10.
