Bayonetta 1 and 2 and Their “Same Difference”

Last Sunday, it was reported that a player reached out to SEGA to ask for the possibility of Bayonetta receiving a Wii U port. Otherwise, the customer would just purchase the game’s Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version. But what’s mind-boggling, though, is the customer service’s reply:

The second Bayonetta as you well know is being published by Nintendo exclusively for Wii U. Both games have been developed by Platinum Games. That said, the decision on which version to purchase is really up to you. The games are exactly the same except the Wii U version has a two player mode and the Bayonetta character has different hair and her costume is different.

If those additional features are not important to you, then by all means don’t hesitate to pick up the PS3 or Xbox version. Good luck and we hope you enjoy whatever version you decide on.

So, does this mean that the “2” on Bayonetta 2 means “two players” and “second costume”? Regardless, let’s just hope that someone at SEGA customer service didn’t have a very, very bad Monday.
