Mercedes-Benz took off the wraps of their 2015 GLA Sports Utility Vehicle at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show last Wednesday. Set to entice new buyers, the small off-roader is set to land on US showrooms in the fall of 2014.

Just like its CLA sedan cousin, the GLA includes start/stop feature and is powered by a 208-hp, 258-lb ft of turbocharged direct injection 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Its standard feature will include collision prevention assist, attention assist, and the mbrace2 connectivity package. However, buyers can have the option of adding power liftgate, distronic plus cruise control, lane-keep assist, panoramic sunroof, sport package, and the parallel parking aid parktronic assist.

The first wave of 2015 GLAs will come with Mercedes’ 4MATIC all-wheel drive that would give the SUV a fully variable system. Its rear power take-off will come straight from the seven-speed dual clutch transmission. On the other hand, the car’s rear axle will include integrated, electrohydraulically controlled multidisk clutch. A front-wheel drive version will be available starting 2015.

Mercedes-Benz is expected to announce the 2015 GLA SUV’s pricing closer to its fall 2014 release.
