An all new Japanese side-scrolling action game—Mighty No. 9—was able to garner $3,845,170 on Kickstarter. Combined with PayPal donations, comcept USA, LLC, the developer behind the said game, reached their $4 Million goal.

Game producer and illustrator Keiji Inafune plans to take on the 8-bit and 16-bit classic titles gamers know and love, and transform it with modern technology, fresh mechanics, and fan input to create a new and exciting game.

Mighty No. 9: Gameplay and Features

In Mighty No. 9, players will take the role of Beck, the ninth in line of powerful robots and the only one that was uninfected by a mysterious computer virus.

The game will be powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine, letting the developers jump straight on the game play and focus less on the technicalities. It will also follow comcept USA’s unique graphical style, aiming on the controls, character animation, level atmosphere, and balance of Beck’s transformations.

With the generous help of their Kickstarter backers, Mighty No. 9 will be released on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3, PS4, PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS
