After it was announced during the CES 2013 event in Las Vegas, ACER has finally brought its Iconia B1 tablets to Singapore and Indonesia. As reported by Android Authority, the Android tablet will have the potential to best no-name devices and their often questionable after-sales series in the said countries. The Iconia B1 is also ideal for busy individuals seeking a convenient mobile companion. At 7 inches—the same size as a standard book page—the display is comfortable for e-reading, web browsing, playing games and watching videos.

ACER Iconia B1 in Singapore, Indonesia, and India

For those living in Singapore, the ACER Iconia B1 is available for S$199 or about US$160, while it costs US$135 on the Indonesian retailer Bhinneka. Prior to this, the tablet was launched in India for Rs 7,999 or about US$150. It will also be available next month in Europe, Middle East, and Africa for 119 Euros.

Although the tablet’s specs are incomparable to the Nexus 7, the ACER Iconia B1 makes a great and cheaper alternative for users who are not looking for extra horsepower. It boasts a 7-inch screen with 1024 x 600-pixel resolution, and it is powered by dual-core 1.2 GHz Mediatek MTK 8317T processor. The device also features 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD slot for up to 32 GB, 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
