Blogs That Make Star Wars Awkward Family Moments

If you’ve ever ventured around this part of the web from time to time, than you should know that I have an unhealthy fascination with people converting Star Wars into something awesome and original. Recently, I stumbled upon two sites that prove Star Wars is indeed a family affair.

The first site is the blog for artist Steve Quinn. Three of his illustrations are Awkward Star Wars Family Portraits. Initially, the geek in me shouted, what the heck is going on? How can Darth Vader and Chewbacca be the parents of Luke, Leia and C-3PO? But, the rational person within reminded myself that it’s fun art. Perhaps that’s why it’s awkward? Overall, these resemblance of oil paintings are quite good, so they’re worth mentioning. I can only hope that someone in the future actually recreates some of those awkward family portraits and recreates them using real life people representing Star Wars characters.

The second site is a Tumbler blog. It features a Canadian couple, named Red and Jonny, that go about their lives wearing Storm Trooper masks. They take pics of almost everything they do together while wearing the masks. Whether it’s going out to eat, sharing a drink at the pub, doing chores, or going to bed, they’re always wearing those masks. They seem to update the blog frequently, so I would check it out every now and then. Besides, I’m oddly attracted to Red. That dude Jonny is one lucky geek. And I don’t even know what she looks like behind the mask!
