As expected, the sixth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise did big at the box office, but it shattered expectations by having an astounding $122.2 million over the holiday weekend.

Besides capturing the top spot in the States, the movie also debuted in first place in 59 foreign markets and is expected to do another $150 million overseas. The record-breaking debut is also winning over fans and critics. Rotten Tomatoes currently states that 72% of critics are giving it a thumbs-up, while 95% of fans like it.

Even before the critical and box-office success of Fast & Furious 6, a seventh film was already in the works. The seventh film of the series is scheduled for July 11, 2014.

But, what makes the series so popular and profitable? It definitely can’t be the plot and the acting skills of Paul Walker and Vin Diesel. The true stars of the franchise are the cars. After all, it’s called Fast & Furious for a reason.

Throughout the series there have been a countless amount of awesome head-turning vehicles that most of us could only dream of owning, building, or at least driving just once.

So, how much do these cars cost to make? Well, here’s an infographic from MyVoucherCodes.co.uk and EpicTuning.com that breaks down the cost.

The graph isn’t supposed to be exact, it’s just to give you a general idea on how much one of these cars would cost, which would range from $50,000 to $90,000. Sure, that’s pricey, but still cheaper than a lot of other luxury vehicles out there.

But, as John from Epic Tuning points out:

A tuner car can be any car to which you make performance or aesthetic improvements so that it becomes your own statement, but it usually refers to relatively inexpensive import or domestic cars that are already fun, good handling, and quick, but have potential to be REALLY fun and fast with some good performance tweaking. With the right knowledge (and enough money) a tuner car can be built to keep up with, or be even faster than some super expensive exotics for a tenth of their prices.”
