Emanuela de Paula is More Than Able To Please

Brazilian Supermodel Emanuela de Paula was born on April 25, 1989 from a White Brazilian mother and a African Brazilian father. This hot angel has been the face of UK retailer Next for the past two seasons and can be seen in the 2009 Pirelli Calendar.

Brought up in a small port town, Emanuela mapped out her career goals at an early age. “When I was nine I told my father, ‘I want to be a model! Take me to the city. I need to see some people.” She first took an interest in modeling at the age of nine and quickly booked a supermarket advertisement. By 15 she was visiting modeling agencies agencies and within a few days she was signed to the prestigious agency, Marilyn.

Her first season was in New York City in 2005, and yielded runway work for the likes of Ralph Lauren, Bill Blass and Zac Posen, as well as a story for W, photographed by Michael Thompson. Emanuela has been Admired by Naomi Campbell and Anna Wintour of Vogue. At 20 she had landed two makeup campaigns: M.A.C. Barbie Collection and Prescriptives.

Not only has Emanuela posed for the Pirelli calendar, but she walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for the first time in 2008, joining the rest of the Brazilian brigade. Her other runway credits include Alexandre Herchcovitch, Colcci, Diane von Furstenberg, Jennifer Lopez’ Sweetface, Kenneth Cole, Lacoste, Lucy In The Sky, Rebecca Taylor, Salinas, and Yigal Azrouël, and she has appeared in campaigns for Alexandre Herchcovitch, DKNY, GAP Body, and Tommy Hilfiger. Her editorials include Allure Magazine, French, Marie Claire, Vogue, and Women’s Wear Daily.

According to Forbes, Emanuela ranked the eleventh highest paid supermodel for 2009, earning $2.5 million. She currently resides in New York City, and has walked runway for São Paulo Fashion Week, home to the largest fashion shows in Brazil.
