Who Owns the Longest Tongue in America?

The recipient of this rather dubious honor goes to 20-year-old California actor, Nick Afanasiev, whose tongue measures 3.5 inches from the middle of his closed top lip to the tip of his tongue. This is just 0.36 inches shorter than the man who currently holds the world record, Stephen Taylor from Great Britain.

Nick Afanasiev was born in Moscow and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

His extraordinary tongue was featured in a YouTube video that received more than one million hits and helped his career by landing him a brief appearance on Nickelodeon’s hit series iCarly. He has also made several television appearances showing off tricks he can do with his amazing tongue on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Tyra Banks Show.

Apparently, the Nickelodeon shoot exposed him to being in front of a camera, with which he began an instant love affair.

According to his website:

“Just days after returning home from the set, he began to take film/TV acting classes at Robert Wald Actor’s Studios, and with Billy Cowart at WCI Studios.”

In his own words about his own tongue:

“I knew it was long, I just didn’t know it was one of the longest,” he said.

His long tongue doesn’t exactly make him a hit with the ladies who are  kind of scared of his unusually long tongue, but the young and single Nick hopes that will soon change.

Nick’s counterpart, Annika Irmier, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, holds the female world record for longest tongue, which measures 2.75 inches.

So what can anyone say about the world’s longest tongue?

Lick it up, Nick, while you can.

Although your tongue will last a lifetime, fame is fleeting.
