Michelle Alves Will Make Your Heart Stop

Brazilian supermodel Michelle Alves was an A-student well on her way to becoming an engineer before she decided she could make more and have more fun just being incredibly super hot.

Born on September 19, 1978, in Londrina, Brazil, Michelle grew up amidst successful academics, her father was an engineer and her mother was a lawyer. At Londrina State University, Michelle studied civil engineering prior to moving to São Paulo, where she pursued modeling. She describes herself as “always a good student” and “almost a nerd.” Michelle is also a polyglot, fluent in Portuguese, Italian, French and English.

She was featured in the 2003 and 2005 editions of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and in two editions of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and was also featured in their catalogs and their book celebrating the company’s 10th anniversary, entitled Sexy. Michelle is considered part of the Brazilian supermodel explosion that includes Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Gisele Bundchen and Ana Beatriz Barros.

Michelle’s modeling work was not restricted to print, either. She strolled the runway for Versace, John Galliano, Stella McCartney, and many others. She also became a spokesmodel for Valentino and Christian Dior. With so many high-profile jobs to her credit, Michelle quickly became a certified supermodel.

As Michelle continues to strut on the catwalk and sport wings for Victoria’s Secret, her career looks even more promising. She is maturing and learning how to handle the media and stardom, and will only keep shining as a supermodel.
