Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary Concert Lineup

Twenty-five years ago Cleveland beat out New York City as the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Some think that it was because Cleveland DJ Alan Freed coined the term “rock and roll”. Others think that it was because the city offered the best financial package. Either way, it makesĀ  Cleveland live up to the lines “Cleveland rocks”.

However, it will be New York, not Cleveland, that will be host to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary with a two night stand with a who’s who of inductees.

The concerts will be held on October 29 and 30 at the legendary Madison Square Garden.

Here’s the October 29 the lineup:

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (Inducted in 1999)

Simon and Garfunkel, Paul Simon will also get his own set (1990, Simon in 2001)

Simon and Garfunkel – The Sound Of Silence ( Live ).mpg

Stevie Wonder (1989)

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Friends (1997)

October 30 will be just as awesome with:

Eric Clapton (2000)

U2 (2005)

Aretha Franklin (1987)

Metallica (2009)

Tickets will go on sale August 3 and will range from $75 to $2,000, but if you aren’t able to get tickets (which will be tough to get) you can just sit back and watch from the comfort of your home when HBO airs the concerts.

To make this event even cooler is the team producing it, which will include Tom Hanks and music fanatic/director Cameron Crowe.

  1. That's quite a line up! I'd love to see Eric Clapton, a true Rock and Roll legend in my mind. Any idea how the tickets will be made available or when?
