New 4.1-inch front panel for iPod Touch and cameras for the next-generation iPhone surfaced online last Tuesday. The said components show the same design as the current iPod Touch, although a taller screen fits the recent rumors that Apple has ordered 4-inch screens for its upcoming handset.

Rumored Components for the Next-generation iPhone

The current iPhone and iPod Touch units feature the same 3.5-inch Retina Displays, a screen size that has been used since the company’s first-generation mobile phone was introduced in 2007.  In addition, the alleged front panel has a home button space at the bottom and front camera at the top-center of the screen.

There were also claims of the front and rear cameras for the next-generation iPhone, although the latter does not feature a connected LED flash. On the other hand, the front-facing camera has a design that takes flight from the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Other than that, a home button flex cable was included on the list of components that were caught in the wild, suggesting that the upcoming handset will have an internal redesign.

Next-gen iPhone’s SIM Tray, Headphone Jack and Earpiece

A larger touch panel and front-facing camera is the latest rumor released on industry websites with regards to the components of Apple’s forthcoming mobile phone. Prior to this, it was rumored that the next-generation iPhone will feature a new SIM card tray.

Labeled as the “iPhone 4 SIM Card Tray Holder Slot,” the component reportedly has subtle differences compared with the tray found on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. It has a slight tapering metal frame piece and extra metal shelf. After that, a headphone jack and earpiece reportedly emerged on Apple component reseller SW-Box. Claiming to be compatible with the “iPhone 5,” the headphone jack is attached to the earpiece and Wi-Fi component.

Last month, photos of the new home button for the next-generation iPhone surfaced online. The images suggest that the button will look the same as before, only it will have an internal redesign.

Whether the said iPhone parts will see the light of day remains to be seen, but if rumors are to be believed, this only suggests that Apple is overhauling their device. However, they opted for minor modifications instead of drastic changes.

There were claims that Apple is testing new components for its next-generation iPhone. The company is said to be in the midst of testing and evaluating parts for their upcoming handset, which is expected to be unveiled this October.
