At the Wired Business Conference last Tuesday, Windows Co-chief Julie Larson-Green confirmed that a developer preview of Windows 8.1 will be available during their BUILD conference in June.
Improvements and Desktop Resurgence
Also dubbed as Windows Blue, the upcoming operating system update is expected to bring in plenty of improvements from Windows 8.
There have been several early builds that were leaked on the Internet, showcasing the much-needed additions for the current OS. These include Snap controls, a number of apps, beefed-up PC settings options, enhanced sync settings, potential modern UI File explorer interface, as well as a couple of tweaks.
In addition to this, Tami Reller, another Windows co-chief, hinted that a desktop resurgence is in the horizon. Whether this resurgence will take place or not remains to be seen. After all, a lot about Windows Blue will be revealed between June 26, 2013 and June 28, 2013.
