Although the awards season may be all done and over, credits are still given out to where it’s due. In fact, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is nominated for the Best Technology Award at the upcoming Game Developers Choice Awards this March. Aside from Black Ops 2, Assassin’s Creed II, super-hit Planetside 2, Halo 4, and Far Cry are also up for the title.

The Game Developers Choice Awards will take place on March 27, which coincides with the 2013 Game Developers Conference. Additionally, the event will stage Activision’s 60-minute presentation about their next-generation engine.

Black Ops 2: Undeserving for the Nomination?

However, some gamers and readers found Black Ops 2’s nomination for Best Technology Award as rather ridiculous. One reader from Call of Duty Community even pointed out that the game doesn’t deserve a nomination.

While the game might have a nice setup (weapons, levels, classes), the bugs, glitches and connectivity are terrible. Highly undeserving of a “Best Technology Award”… I would honestly have expected a “Worst Online Technology Award”.

Aside from the Best Technology Award, the Game Developers Choice Awards will recognize three special award categories: Pioneer, Ambassador, and Lifetime Achievement awards. Meanwhile, check out the complete list of nominees for the upcoming event.
