Based on a March data released my market research firm App Annie, King’s Candy Crush Saga leads Apple’s app store when it comes to mobile downloads worldwide. However, the top-grossing mobile game is GungHo Online Entertainment’s Puzzle and Dragons.
The Battle for Mobile Game Players
King’s Candy Crush Saga is now the most downloaded mobile game in iOS since it became available in September 2012. It is also ranked No. 3 in Google Play, while its revenue is placed No. 3 and No. 4 in iOS and Google Play, respectively.
GungHo’s Puzzle and Dragons, on the other hand, is No. 1 in both iOS and Google Play for the month of March in terms of profit. In Japan alone, the game was able to generate over 10 million downloads. This only indicates that Puzzle and Dragons is designed for maximum monetization.
It appears that every game publisher is competing for the same players every month where mobile games are the primary concern.
